I don't know about you guys, but I'm sick of everyone saying that Avril Lavigne is a sell-out.  I'm not a fan at all nor do I like her music, but this comment people keep making is completely ridiculous.

FIRST of all, the music... Avril was never "punk".  She was ALWAYS pop... .Hello, Complicated?  (I'll stay away from my own comments on her stealing everything for now...)

SECONDLY, people say she's going against all of her initial beliefs and statements she made when she was what, like ... 17?! 

I don't know about you, but I sure as hell know that everything I said and did when I was 17 or in high school is completely irrelevant now.  I don't think the media or critics, or even general public, seem to understand that girls do grow up.  It just sucks when you're in the public eye because they critique every little thing you do. 

But come on, I was totally a tomboy back in the day, much like a little Avril myself, and would never EVER set foot in "girly" clothes or even carry a purse.  Now, I can't get enough of designer jeans and fancy purses.  It's not going against what I believed in, it's just maturing and realizing who you are.

Just because someone changes what they like or what they believe in over a course of 5 years does not make them a "sell-out".  People change, the world changes.  I just wish narrowminded critics would change too.

someone complains about learning who their real friends are or saying certain things for attention and sympathy when they are the ones at fault or are pretty much talking about themselves. not that we have anything to do with it but if you only knew the things that we know, you would think a lot differently about some of your favorite so called idols. just sayin'.

so we have been working on TONS of new stuff and we can only tell you about a couple of things so far and here they are...

You are about to read something that really gets to me.

People who act fake to the people they worship or want to be like.  By this, I mean candy-coating your idols in lavish comments about how wonderful they are... even when they're obviously not.   i.e.  telling them they look gorgeous when they're so obviously looking super horrible.

The first thing most people don't realize is that your idols aren't as great as you expect them to be.  Trust, and take this from someone who knows.  I've had many experiences with false idols.  You think you know someone from reading about them or admiring them on the internet, when in real life that person is a pretentious ass... probably thanks to the praise you gave them that wasn't required in the first place. 

Some of these people you applaud feeeeeed off your jealousy and admiration, so what's the point of putting them on an even higher pedistal when they don't even deserve it?

I'm not saying don't show any appreciation for them, i'm just saying don't act fake and pretend you're their best friend when they don't deserve it.  Don't try to be like them because you're much better off just being yourself.

Idolize people who have done some good in the world.  Taking a pretty picture should not  qualify as a good deed, or be the reason you bend over backwards to please and feed the monster.
